Professor Paul Garner, MD

Paul Garner is Professor emeritus in evidence-based public health in infectious diseases. A medic, he trained in London, he worked in Papua New Guinea; then to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and then the Liverpool School. He is recognised globally for his work in evidence synthesis and guideline development in infectious diseases, and is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2013, 2014, and 2015 reflecting the quality and impact of his work.
Paul developed the post-COVID-19 condition. He recovered through a biopsychosocial approaches. An eternal optimist, he believes long covid will open the minds of professional and the public alike to a broader understanding of health and illness.
